Practically Perfect...

As we approach TJ's 10th week... Mommy is getting ready to go back to work. I have one week left to be home with my little munchkin, and I'm having major anxiety! I love my job, and I know it'll be good for me to go back and have adult interaction, but I'm dreading leaving my baby boy! He's such a little sweetie pie.

Daddy and Mommy finally got a night out last night. Grandpa & Grandma Reno came up and watched TJ so we could go to dinner with our friends, Auntie Anne & Uncle Mike, and see Mary Poppins. Even though we saw it on Broadway, we couldn't resist seeing it again, and it really was better the second time. This Bert was so much better. Plus, it didn't hurt sitting in the sixth row versus sitting in the third tier! It was a little weird walking around with a little purse instead of a diaper bag, and we did miss TJ a ton, but it was so great spending time with just each other. :)

TJ was a little angel for Grandma & Grandpa, and I don't know what they did, but he slept more than he has ever! I fed him at 11:30, and he slept until 5:30 in the morning!!! It was awesome!

I know the calendar says it's spring, but March is Colorado's snowiest month, and that was definitely the case this week. One day it was nearly 70 degrees outside... the next -- a major snowstorm that dumped 9 inches in our backyard. Then, the very next day... the snow was almost completely melted! Gotta love Colorado! :)

This week we're going to get some more errands done before I return to work, but I plan on cuddling my little man as much as possible over the the next 8 days!

Two Month Update

TJ had his two month doctor's appointment today which meant one thing -- shots! He did a great job and only cried during the shots... he was completely calm and quiet by the time we checked out. He's a little warm and a little fussy this evening, but nothing a little Infants' Tylenol and cuddling can't handle. His little legs are swollen, too, but the doctor said that would be normal.

Daddy came home just in time for the appointment, and TJ and Mommy are both glad he's home.

The doctor says TJ is a quote, "Stud." His alert level, strength, etc. is great, and he weighs 11 pounds exactly and is now 22 and a half inches long!

We're expecting up to a foot of snow tomorrow... a big change from the 65 degree weather we've had the past few days. Looks like we'll be hunkering down for a few days!

This past week, TJ has had fun playing with his Around The World Gym his Aunt Linda gave him... Here's a fun pic!

Travelin' Man

TJ's had a busy week and so has Daddy. Frankie had to go to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Conference Tournament for a few days last week, so TJ, Mommy and Jackson drove down to Canon City to stay with Grandma & Grandpa for a few days. TJ had a great time hanging out with his Grandparents and Aunts Angie & Diane. He also got to meet his cousin Danielle and his Uncle Paul.

TJ loves looking at Grandpa... and he makes the funniest faces at him.

He also loves it when Mommy reads Dr. Seuss's ABC book! Here's a link to a video we took during storytime. He especially likes letters F, I, and Q. (Just copy the link and paste it in your browser to watch)

On Saturday, Mommy spent her first evening away from TJ. I had an awards ceremony to attend, and since Frankie had to work late, Grandma Reno and Auntie Angie came up and watched him.

It was Grandma Reno who discovered how much TJ loves looking at his mobile in his crib. He doesn't sleep in there yet, since he still sleeps in our room, but he loves hanging out in his room.

Sunday, TJ and Mommy went to Fort Collins with Daddy for his work. We hadn't spent much time with him, so we went to work with him. ;) While in NOCO, we were able to visit with Natalie, Ryan, Connor and Logan. It was fun to see them since we hadn't visited with them since TJ was just a few days old. It was a long day, but TJ did awesome... he's such a champ and never really got fussy even though we didn't get home until midnight!

Daddy has to go out of town this week, too, and we're just going to hang out at home. TJ turns 2 months old on Thursday. He'll have his doctor's appointment that day, so we'll update you after that!

Also, I've been asked by some people what we're going to call our little Thomas Joseph and how we're going to "spell" his name. I'm very particular about how his name is written and that it's written correctly since my name is notoriously spelled wrong. The majority of the time we call him TJ... just TJ -- no periods in between. However, there are times he's called Tommy, Tommy 2 (Grandpa is Tommy 1) and Thomas. I still call him Baby Beans, too! Poor kid may have an identity crisis! :)

Ladies' Man

TJ and I had a great time at my friend and coworker's bridal shower. TJ got lots of attention from all of the ladies, especially his Auntie Anne, who doesn't like to put him down. :) It was great hearing everyone ooooohhhh and aaahhhh over TJ, and it was nice to be able to eat while others held TJ.

Of course, TJ wasn't the only adorable baby at the shower. We were finally able to meet Kim's twins Sydney and Evan Cooper. Kim and I went through our pregnancies together at work and the babies were born within a day of each other -- TJ on Monday the 18th and the twins on Tuesday the 19th. It was so fun to finally get the babies together! Kim and I were able to share our labor and delivery experiences. :)

At Thursday's nursing group, TJ weighed in at 10 lbs, 4.9 ounces! He's getting so big!!!

Today we were able to spend the entire day with Daddy, and we enjoyed the sunshine with a nice, long walk. TJ loved cuddling up in our Ergo and slept the entire time.

Daddy leaves for Las Vegas soon, so we'll be headed to Canon City this week to stay with Grandpa & Grandma. I'm actually looking forward to getting away for a few days... I just hope I pack enough for TJ!

Six Week Update

Six weeks have flown by, and we're amazed at how much the little man has changed. He's spending more time awake, and he's eating longer, which will hopefully result in longer periods between feedings. :)

Last Thursday, at our breastfeeding group, TJ weighed in at 9 lbs 10 oz! That's the third week in a row that he's gained about an ounce a day.

He likes to listen to lullabies read by Julie Andrews, read books with Mommy and listen to some of Mommy's favorite songs, like Que Sera Sera and Dream a Little Dream. Those songs always help him fall asleep. It's special because I remember dancing to Que Sera Sera with my Grandma in her kitchen when I was a little girl.

Mommy's Buggy Fitness group is going well, even though it's leaving me super sore and having a hard time getting up the stairs! :) The women are great and it really is a great workout.

I had my six-week doctor's appointment yesterday, and I was given the all-clear to resume my normal activities. That's a good thing since I've been working out for more than a week without clearance! :)

Uncle Rode had a meeting in Boulder today, so he flew in from Orange County a few days earlier to hang out and meet TJ. It was great to catch up with him and share our beautiful little boy.

Next week, Daddy has to go out to Vegas for work for a few days, so TJ & I will be headed to Canon City to stay with Grandpa and Grandma. It might include a daytrip to Salida, too... we'll see.
