The first was in Colorado. We were so happy to spend a week at Grandma & Grandpa's house on Christmas. It was a nice week, with not a whole lot to do, but eat, relax and of course, play! We even got in some sledding, and TJ was so excited to play in the snow... even Grandma & Pa couldn't resist hopping on the sled! We didn't get to do any other visiting, but were so thankful to spend quality time with Ga, Pa and Aunt G, Uncle Carl & Aunt Jane. The boys were absolutely spoiled by everyone, and it was quite tricky finding how to get everything back home in our suitcases!
We landed at SFO at 11 p.m., the night after Christmas because Santa was making a special trip to our house for a belated-Christmas surprise. Santa stayed up til 4:30 a.m. getting boys' Christmas presents ready, and, wow, was it worth it! TJ obviously was a VERY good boy since he received a Radiator Springs table track, complete with all the cars from the movie. And Baby Frankie can't stay away from his activity cube Santa left under the tree. We spent the rest of the morning opening gifts from Aunts, Uncles and Nana & Bill. The boys made out like bandits, and Mommy spent the rest of her vacation finding places for all the new toys. TJ was great and helped Mommy pick out toys to donate to little kids who don't have any.
While we were at the airport getting our bags, Mommy saw one of the basketball coaches from Daddy's time covering the CSU Rams. He's with a team in South Carolina now, and they were in the Bay Area to play Cal. It was so perfect we saw Nikko! He hooked us up with tickets and the boys were able to take in some good ol' college basketball that weekend. It was so much fun!
New Year's Eve was pretty uneventful. Mommy had to work, and so we were all in bed way before the ball dropped. We ended up spending New Year's Day picknicking at Golden Gate Park. It had been a long time since we'd been there, and it was a gorgeous day, so we decided to pack lunches and enjoy some family time, just the four of us.
