Father's Day & Other Happenings

Last weekend, we drove to Ga & Pa's to celebrate Father's Day. Mommy had to work on Sunday, so we turned Saturday into the holiday. Pa made a homemade Italian dinner... TJ had a chance to play in Pa's boat, in his sandbox and on his new swingset. So, of course, he had a great time!
TJ's been thriving at day care. Every day he seems to learn something new and have a blast. The other day, he took a liking to a fireman hat and wore it all day! And... he's definitely gotten all of his teachers wrapped around his finger! :) He's also "Mister Popular." It's so funny... whenever we walk into his classroom, the kids all look, smile and say, "Hi TJ." He loves it!

We've been trying to keep track of all the words TJ is saying, but quite honestly, we can't keep up!He's a little chatterbox... but one of my favorite new words is lawnmower. Ga & Pa bought TJ a bubble-making lawnmower for Easter. He points to the door, says "outside" then, "lawnmower." He loves walking around the cul de sac pushing it around.

On Wednesday, TJ helped his buddy Camden celebrate his second birthday. It was fun morning at the park and treats at Swirls frozen yogurt. It was fun seeing all the kiddos together... it's crazy to go to 2nd birthday parties and watch these little guys and gal grow up!

This week, TJ's second cousin, Izzy, and her mom and dad were in town from DC for a wedding. They stayed with us Thursday night... and TJ & Izzy got a lot of playtime in on Friday. The two are only three months apart, and while TJ shares well at day care... when it's HIS toys in HIS house, it's a little different. :)
He did well most of the time, but there were moments when his possessiveness kicked in. He got worked up over Mommy's chair being used and his Elmo being played with. Go figure. They did giggle a lot and TJ & Iz were loving... Izzy giving hugs, TJ giving kisses. It was soooo cute!
The two had a great time playing with the water table and silly sprinkler in the morning. Then, it was time for a wagon ride after naptime. In the evening... we were off to the Downtown Aquarium for a good time... and a nice dinner in the water room next to the giant tank. After that, it was time to part ways as they headed to Longmont for the wedding.

We were sad to see them go, but it was a great time catching up with family.
The rest of the weekend, we only have plans to spend time together. TJ & Mommy went to a park along the trail behind our house. After going on the slide and swing, we whipped out the basketball and played a little game. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I loved playing basketball... and to be honest... playing with TJ was the most fun I've EVER had playing the game!

Tons O' Fun

Little Mister TJ has had quite the busy few weeks. Last weekend, he went to Ga & Pa's house to hang out with them... and break in the new swing set they bought him. Of course, they bought him a swing set. :) He loved it. Slides have always been his favorite, but after last weekend, the swing is starting to take over the top spot.
This week, TJ's Uncle Joey flew in from California to play in Daddy's company golf tournament with him. After the tourney... TJ & Mommy met them at a park for The Mtn.'s picnic... TJ had a great time playing on the playground and drawing with sidewalk chalk. Although, he got more on himself than on the sidewalk.
After the park, we headed to Coors Field for the Rockies-Dodgers game. Since Daddy & Uncle Joey are Dodgers fans, TJ wore his LA outfit with his Rockies hat.

TJ loves baseball, or bah-ball as he says it.. he walks around with is bat swinging it, or just holding it as he watches the game on TV. He had a great time at the game with Mommy, Daddy and Uncle Joey.

TJ loves mascots, especially Dinger, so it was really cool when Dinger walked over to TJ and gave him a high-five. He then, immediately shook his finger at Daddy, scolding him for wearing a Dodgers shirt. The best part about rooting for two teams, is TJ gets to cheer at every play! TJ was pooped... it only took a few minutes in the car before he was out... and he slept until 9 a.m.! That has never happened. I think we're going to go to more Rockies games. :)

Saturday morning, Uncle Joey left for the airport. After relaxing for a bit... Mommy, Daddy and TJ loaded up in the Jeep and headed to Tiny Town. There are three things TJ asks for us to put on TV, basketball (he says bah-etball), baseball and choo choo (Thomas the Train). So, it goes without saying TJ loved riding the steam engine train at Tiny Town.

He had so much fun playing in and around the model homes and buildings. TJ kept walking around saying, "Oh Wow!" It was so funny! He also got nice and dirty... and nice and tired. He slept for almost three hours when we got home!
We've had such a great weekend spending time together as a family.

Tomorrow we're going to hang out, relax and top off another wonderful weekend before heading back to work and school.

Chatterbox

TJ has turned into such a chatterbox in the past few weeks (really, we don't know where he got it from!). :) He'll wake up in the morning and just talk and talk in his crib for about 20 minutes before yelling, "Mom! Dad!" And while most of the time, we have no idea what he's saying... his vocabulary seemed to have exploded recently... especially when he was at Ga & Pa's last weekend.

Here's a little sampling of what he's saying nowadays:
ball, mom, dad, dog (Ja for Jackson), cat (Bo for our cat), house, boat (for Grandpa's boat), butt (when he points to Bo's tail), doh doh (for donut, thanks Grandpa & Grandma), Ga (for Grandma), Pa (for Grandpa), hot, G (for Auntie Angie), more, choo choo (when he sees a train), bed bed (when he's going to sleep for the night), please, nana (for banana), car

It's crazy how much he changed while we were in California for just a few days. He came back with four new words, and he's much more independent now. He likes to do a lot of things on his own, and Mommy's not quite ready for that just yet! :)
Last weekend Mommy & Daddy flew out to California to celebrate our friends' Dave & Kelly's wedding. We had a chance to spend time with Frankie's friends and his Mom & Bill.

It was a quick trip, but we managed to get a trip to the beach and Universal Studios in. It was a great time, but it was also tough since that's the longest Mommy's been without TJ. After two days, I got to come home, but Daddy had to fly to Vegas for work... so he had to go even longer without seeing the little man. TJ was SOOOO excited when Daddy got home, it was so cute!

While we were away, TJ had a blast at Ga & Pa's. They played in the sandbox Pa made him nearly everyday, went to the park with "G" (that's what TJ has decided to call Auntie Angie), ate doh dohs, and played in Pa's boat.

This week was the last of our crazy-busy weeks at work (for now), so Mommy can finally take a breath, slow down, and spend some extra time with the little man. Even though we tried to have a non-eventful weekend, we still managed to help celebrate two birthdays.

We went to Auntie Jay's birthday party yesterday evening, and G came up for her birthday today. TJ played in the front yard with her, then we went to lunch. G headed downtown for some more birthday fun with Victor, and TJ, Mommy and Daddy went to the museum.

We were really surprised at how great TJ did! He sat so well in the stroller... he loved looking at everything. He was so into the Pirates exhibit and the dinosaurs. He was so funny!

When we left the museum, we walked by a big fountain in the park... all the kids were playing in it, and TJ pointed to it like he wanted to go in. We took his shirt off... and he took off! Right into the water. Daddy followed, and TJ wasn't even phased when the water would shoot up in his face. He squealed and giggled... and had a ball! He cried when it was time to go home. When we got to the car, both TJ and Daddy were soaked, but they had the biggest smiles on their faces... it was awesome!

Here's a video of the fun he had.
