We've been caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, so we haven't had a chance to update the blog lately. It's been a busy few weeks.
The day after Thanksgiving, we put up the Christmas lights (TJ helped), picked out our Christmas tree (TJ helped) and decorated the tree (TJ helped.) TJ is such a big helper... he loves to help, but more than that, he loves to tell everyone, "TJ helping." He was so excited picking out our tree and putting it up. Our family tradition is to decorate the house while making cookies and watching White Christmas. TJ loved it! He wanted to watch more dancing, and he kept dancing along with the movie. The best part of the night was when TJ pulled out the star tree topper and sang, "Twinkle Twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are." It was the sweetest thing, it made Mama cry.
The first weekend in December, Mommy & Daddy went to celebrate our family friend, Bill's wedding in Hershey, Pennsylvania. It was nice... we were able to spend time with Jo Lynn and Joey, Tara & Rory. It was a great city and the wedding was beautiful, and while it was nice to have a weekend away... we missed TJ terribly!
We're not quite sure TJ missed us as much. He spent the weekend with Ga & Pa and had a very special treat. They took TJ on a train ride complete with dinner... and Santa! He absolutely loved it, and he keeps talking about it to this day.
TJ continues to crack us up with the things he comes up with. It's too funny... and we're trying to write everything down. The cute, the funny, the sweet, the outrageous. For example, TJ loves the Tulo chant at the Rockies game. The other night, he went and got his Rockies hat (he calls it his Tulo hat) and his baseball bat. He put his baseball on his tee and said, "Daddy, sing Tulo." TJ wouldn't hit the ball until Frankie did the chant. The things TJ says! :)
Yesterday, one of my talented co-workers, Jeff, took some amazing family photos for my parents. The last time we had a family picture, I was in 7th grade, and since my parents have done so much for us and TJ, we thought it would be a wonderful Christmas present to have family photos taken. Jeff is a great photographer and they came out amazing!
I can't believe Christmas is a week away. This is the time of year where it's important to reflect on all the joy and blessings in our life. Each year we don't believe it can get any better and yet, it does. We have pure love and happiness everyday with TJ, and we are so lucky to be surrounded by such loving family and friends. We have good jobs and our health. It can't get better than this. Merry Christmas!
